The Anna Dello Russo and H&M collaboration was definitely something to look forward to with the amazing accessory line designed by Anna Dello Russo herself, and that she’s one fancy style icon that we all love! So last Thursday was the day that everyone was looking forward to! Last October 4th, everyone must have had their Fashion Shower.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, you must have read my picks for this collaboration here and when I got there in the evening, I was lucky enough to have tried both of them on, meaning they weren’t out of stock by the time I got to check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚ But since I plan to get one from the two, I picked this pretty necklace! ๐Ÿ™‚ The sunnies were a perfect fit and it was really really really pretty.. but my mom and I found it to be too much. I’m not sure if you understand what I mean but let’s just say that it doesn’t suit my always so casual and comfy yet chic style. So yeah, the necklace got both our votes and it has my name! LOL

Meet my new pet! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Call these mug shots! LOL

Trying out the reptile sunnies!! ๐Ÿ˜€
So, what do you think of my purchase?
And share with me if you had to chance to get anything in your part of the world ๐Ÿ˜€

Paris, France 2012: Day 2

Paris, France 2012: Day 2
The Fashion Show – Le Plus Grand Defile du Mode

When I joined the competition by Galeries Lafayette, all that I was looking forward to if ever I won (which I did) was the all expenses paid trip to Paris and lack the excitement for having to experience something that I never even dreamed of happening! Well, it was to walk a long runway in front of over a hundred French people in the streets of Paris like I’m some professional runway model!! So yeah, this blog is all about being part, as a runway model, in the biggest fashion event that happens every year hosted by Galeries Lafayette Paris. I’d try my very best to vividly describe to you guys what happened, like there’s a story in every photo that you’ll be seeing below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Above: Make-up!!; Below: The runway for rehearsals

First up, the make-up  I was fortunate enough (but I guess unfortunate too, in a way, which you’ll know why in the next topics) that I was included in the first batch to have hair and make-up done. Since we’re approx 400+ runway models, they actually started preparing everyone from 9AM even though the show starts at 7PM. The thing about having your make-up done in a big fashion event like this (or maybe just this one) is that they lack mirrors!! I had no idea what my look was going to be like and what she’s actually doing in my face already! And the make-up artist who did my make-up didn’t even speak English so we had awkward moments wherein she’ll suddenly blabber something to me in French and all I would say back is Je suis desole. Je ne comprends pas Francais. Je parle Anglais.. And yes, in French, that long! So when I was done.. Merci, and then left, looked at myself in the mirror the second I stepped out of the room! After make-up was hair and I guess my stylist got so carried away and the result was crazy but cool too! ๐Ÿ˜‰
As for the runway in the photo, all I can say is that it was a hella waste of a time! Total rip-off of time, effort and embarrassment  (Since we didn’t speak French and only about 2 or 3 people spoke English, we did kind of got the attention that we didn’t really want. Ekh, foreigners we are in the land of the Parisians! LOL) So yeah, it was a wasted of time because: 1. That’s not how the actual runway was set-up in the venue; and 2. They could’ve just told us to walk and never stop instead of going to all the trouble of walking and posing in rehearsals.
I know, I complain a lot! ๐Ÿ˜€

Jiovanni my love; Alexandre mi amor
So this is the part where I explain how unfortunate I am in having to be included in the first batch of hair and makeup! We were bored, BIGTIME!
I, together with ate Lucky and Joanna, finished our hair and make-up at around noon. Imagine how much time till the show! (Go do the math, sweetheart!) So since we were really bored, we all three made up this game where we would greet every cute/hot guy Bonjour and maybe take photos with them. I swear to god, everywhere you look, HOT FRENCH GUYS are everywhere!! Not only in the fashion show, meaning the models, but literally everywhere in the streets!! That even after the show, we’d greet any random hot guy we’d come across to! And this is definitely one of the Top 3 in my Why I love Paris list! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Just to emphasize, Alexandre caught my attention most! He’s just so cute when he smiles!! And mind you, whenever we come across each other (since the preparation venue isn’t that big), his smile.. ugh, I’m gonna die! He’s definitely one of the reasons why I’m missing Paris now! LOL *died

Lovin’ what you see? Well, those are just sample looks in the show! ๐Ÿ™‚ What I loved about the show is that it’s really for everybody, of every age participated!

Teehee! Here it is guys!! My 5 mins of fame, in the streets of Paris!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Don’t mind the face, I just had to be serious since no one did really smile! LOL
Anyway, after the fashion show.. We had dinner at Au General Lafayette which was 5 mins walk from the streets where the fashion show was held. It was already evening time and it was just so freaking cold and I was really exhausted that I had to skip the main course and desserts and went back to the hotel early with Pye and Joanna ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Again, I’d always be grateful for Galeries Lafayette for this once in a lifetime experience!! An experience that will never be forgotten :”> Like I always say, whenever I look back at my time in Paris (although it was a really really really short one), I could just cry of gratefulness and happiness! I am very blessed indeed! :”> Of course I thank my friends and family who supported me by voting for me during the competition! You guys made this possible!! Thank you, thank you! September 2012, you are forever in my heart! ๐Ÿ™‚

Marilyn Monroe for MAC Fall 2012

Often imitated but never duplicated, Marilyn Monroe’s classic blonde bouncy curls, killer curves, and blood-red lips definitely made her a beauty icon during her time. Since her untimely passing 50 years ago, Hollywood starlets such as Madonna, Anna Nicole Smith, Scarlett Johannson, and Blake Lively to Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and, of course, Michelle Williams (who played the icon in the film My Life With Marilyn) have paid homage to the screen legend. And, thanks to a new collection from MAC Cosmetics, channelling Ms. Monroe has never been easier.

This collection oozes the starlets signature sexy and vintage glamour with luscious lipsticks, sparkly shadows, lovely nail laquers, brazen bronzers, and falsies! Featuring fun titles like โ€œCharmed Iโ€™m Sure,โ€ โ€œLove Goddess,โ€ โ€œSilver Screen,โ€ โ€œShowgirl,โ€ โ€œPreferred Blond,โ€ and โ€œRich, Rich, Rich.โ€

This is definitely another limited collection to watch out for! ๐Ÿ˜‰
It’s out in the US on Oct. 4th. Oh Dubai, when when when?

Paris, France 2012: Day 1

Paris, France 2012 – Day 1

Bonjour! If you have been reading my blog, following me on Twitter and/or my friend on Facebook, I am sure that you have had enough of me already blabbing about me going to Paris, already in Paris and leaving Paris ๐Ÿ˜› LOL, as a social media freak, I bet you know how it is to update almost every minute, right? So yeah, I shall share with you guys the photos I took ๐Ÿ™‚

We landed in Paris at 2:25pm, got out at quarter past 3 and reached the hotel at half past 4. The tour was at 6 and we only had a few mins of preppin’ to do as we had to wear our smart outfit since we will be heading straight to dinner after the tour. Hence the dress and the heels ๐Ÿ™‚

First thing is first! Lemme start by asking you guys this.. Do you know that feeling when you’ve done nothing but dream about something to see it in person and when it’s right in front of you, you just can’t help but smile and be grateful and you just can’t stop staring at it. Well, that’s exactly how I felt whenever and wherever we were! In every bit of glimpse I get to see of the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, La Rue Champs-Elysees, etc. I look at it until it’s completely out of my view. I was very happy indeed because it was a dream come true sooner than I have even dreamed of that I could actually cry :”>

La Tour Eiffer
Arc de Triomphe L’Etoile

Avenue des Champs-Elysees

Notre Dame Cathedral
Dome des Invalides
Petit Palais

These were the places we went to during the tour! Since we only had an hour and a half, we only had to chance to see some of Paris’ famous spots because we had to go to our dinner reservation at Le Georges! Anyway, all these photos were taken using my Canon EOS 1000D with a 18-55mm lens.

Ombrรฉ Hair II + Outfit Post

This is part II because I somehow achieved the ombre hair accidentally here when my hair got matampuhin because not all of the color was absorbed ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But anyway, here’s a better version of the Ombre!
Well, I was supposed to dye it red in time for my trip to Paris but I guess I just didn’t risk it since it might just go dark and I won’t be happy with the result. So I decided to leave it as it is and I was right to do so ๐Ÿ™‚

Splash Fashion Royale: A/W 2012

Fashion found inspiration in the past as the AWโ€™12 Splash fashion show revisited the realm of Kings and Queens. Swishing gowns, bow ties, and ornate jewellery was the flavor of the evening as UAE’s finest walked into an arena set with chandeliers and opulent candles in the elegant Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah. Exclusively reserved for those with royal ties to style, the evening was graced with the most imperial of trends, coming together for one magnificent moment.
The posh, contemporary evening saw 65 international models sashay down the catwalk showcasing a minimalistic mix of culture and trends. A contrast to the SS’12 Splash fashion extravaganza, where close to 16,000 guests were entertained, Splash Fashion Royale was an intimate affair with only 3000 guests including consumers, students and opinion makers. Showcasing a mรฉlange of traditional and contemporary the opulent ‘runway’ feast fit for royalty was divided into 4 catwalks with just 2 rows on each side giving every guest an opportunity to enjoy the show in close-quarters to the ramp.

Inspired by the seasonโ€™s trends and the recently concluded catwalk extravaganza, Raza Beig, CEO, Splash & ICONIC, said,”Each season the Splash Fashion Shows are uniquely themed keeping in sync with the latest International cat-walk trends and this season Splashโ€™s AW’12 collection is inspired by the majestic figures of our world and a setting that included seasonal imagery. This season, we also got into an intimate, very exclusive environment where all fashion enthusiasts were treated as VIPs and got to witness the collection up close and personal.
A sneak peak of what to expect this December 2012 at Splash!

With the AWโ€™12 blockbuster trends already at the top of every fashionistas shopping list, the Splash runway married themes beautifully with each other to offer high-voltage fashion. Ranging from retro mix of the 19th century to tapestry and heritage classics and all the way to military alongside some Eastern futurism, the trends were given a spin providing chic and elegant fashion. Glossy satins, lace, sumptuous knits, fur, exotic skins, feathers and embellishments and sequins are back into the wardrobe with black in plentiful with an offbeat mix of electric blackberry, bitter chocolate, aubergines and plum brown darks being the predominant colours. The silhouettes were all about sharp tailoring, peplums, throw-on or slouchy jacket shapes, while glamorous evening wear was decorated with luxurious lace and embroidered with touches of gold. Pea coats and capes teamed with pencil or long pleat skirts, pocketed sweatshirts with skinny pants and jumpsuits remained an integral part of the collection while beautifully brocaded kimono jackets, elaborate obi belts, cheongsam-style dresses in rising-sun red colour were a hit on the ramp. The entire collection was teamed with accessories to covet with and which made each ensemble stand out.

Raza Beig – CEO, Splash and Iconic at the final walk
As the 20 minute action on the ramp came to a halt, the intimate setting of the show was instantly converted into the after party arena that resembled a Courtyard arena sated with birch trees and a very oriental dรฉcor keeping in sync with the kimono inspired trend for the season. Guests danced into the wee hours of the night on the latest hits.
To get your pick of the latest looks and styles that range from vintage to modern chic head to any Splash store, where the collection will be available from now until December 2012 and to revisit moments from the show tune in to Youtube.com/SplashFashion.
